....Landfills full of unusable rubber tires are going to be a thing of the past if Amerityre’s revolutionary Arcus tire holds true to its promise. The technology is so promising that Lee Iacocca has become Advisory Board Chairman, and proclaims it the next automotive milestone.
....The rubber tire traces its origin back to 1844 when Charles Goodyear invented vulcanized rubber. In 1911 Philip Strauss invented the first successful car tire and Michelin introduced the first steel-belted radial tire in 1944. Since then little has changed in tire technology, until now.
....The Polyurethane elastomer auto tire has been in development since 2001 and Amerityre claims that it is superior to rubber in almost every way. Environmentally the tire uses 96% less energy to produce than rubber, is 100% recyclable and non-toxic. Capital Expenditure costs like molds and machining are reduced by 90%. Performance figures are equally impressive with 45% less rolling resistance, giving the tire an average temperature 80˚F cooler than rubber, adding up to 10-20% better fuel economy. Air holding performance is enhanced and tire tread life is also better than rubber and believed to be 25% to 50% improved.
....Amerityre has given no word yet on the introduction date for these perfectly balanced non-oxidizing wonder tires of the future.
